Hoy vengo con un nuevo tipo de posts que espero que os guste, con todas esas pequeñas cosas que me hacen sonreír durante el mes.

DIY Word Bracelet

Hola de nuevo! Ya estoy aquí otra vez, esta vez si que no os libraís de mi... Bueno, para terminar esta semana (buena o mala), vengo con un DIY con mucho amor :) Esta idea la tenía en mente desde hace tiempo, con todas sus variaciones, y fue hace un mes cuando lo probé. Es una pulsera que está gustando mucho (si, ya la he estrenado). Así que a ver si aquí causa la misma impresión. De verdad que es facilísima, se tardan literalmente 10 min. Yo estoy pensando en hacer unas cuantas y darlas como regalo. Espero que os animéis a hacerlas. Muchos besos. Materiales: hilo de punto de cruz, alambre (un poco grueso), cierre, anilla, alicates, tijeras.

Tiempo: 10 minutos

Coste: 2 euros

Hi everyone! I'm back again, it´s starting to be serious ... Well, to end this week, I´m here with a DIY and lots of love :)

I´ve had this idea in mind for quite a while, with all its variations, and I tried to do it a month ago. It's a bracelet that is having a lot of good reactions (yes, I have already used it). I hope y´all think the same. It is extremely easy, it takes literally 10 min. I'm thinking of making a few and giving them as gifts for my friends.

I hope you feel encouraged to do them. Love.

Materials: embroidery thread, wire (a little thick), lobster clasp, jumprings, jewellery pliers, scissors.

Time: 10 minutes

Cost: 2 euros

2&3: Corta un trozo de alambre de unos cm, y con ayuda de los alicates, haz un pequeño bucle al final.
 5&6: Para ir doblando la palabra, te puedes ayudar de un boceto que dibujes en una hoja.
2&3: Cut a cm long piece of wire, and bend a little circle at the end.
5&6: Start bending the wire, with a little help form a sketch in paper.

1&2: Corta dos trozos de hilo del tamaño de tu muñeca, y dóblalos por la mitad. Pasa el hilo por uno de los bucles creados en la palabra, y atraviesa el bucle que se forma en el hilo con su extremo. Luego, anuda el cierre y las anillas.
3&4: Ya la tienes! También la puedes hacer en un tamaño más grande, y forrarla con hilo. Sirve de llavero, collar, o lo que te imagines.
1&2: Cut two pieces of embroidery thread, the size of your wrist. Fold them in half and loop it trought the holes in the word. Loop the end of the thread thriough the other end, which is folded now. Tie a knot in the clasp and the jumprings.
3&4: Your bracelet is complete! You can make it bigger and wrap it in thread, and use it as a keyring or necklace.

Ya estoy de vuelta! Lo sé, lo sé... Ha sido una vuelta al cole un poco larga... pero ya estoy aquí de nuevo, y ya no me voy más :) 

Lo primero, decir, que después de este tiempo que me he tomado, he llegado a la conclusión de que mi nivel de compromiso es  bajo. Y por eso, aunque aún no se ha acabado el año, yo ya empiezo con un propósito. Se empieza con uno, para poder cumplirlo, y se van añadiendo... Bueno, prepararos... A partir de ahora, cada semana va a haber un nuevo post! 

Esto significa que, para poder llegar a todo, el tema del blog se ampliará. Y con esto quiero decir que ya no solo va a haber DIYs, sino fotos de inspiración, "Currently Loving", música, etc. No dudéis en decirme lo que os gustaría que pusiera.

Bueno, eso es todo por esta semana. Espero que os guste lo que habéis leído :)

I'm back! I know, I know ... It has been a pretty  long comeback... but I'm here again, and I do won´t go again, I promise :)

First of all, I have to say that, after this break, I have concluded that my commitment level is low. And so, although the year is not over, I´m being serious now and making a promise. I starts with one, in order to fulfill it, and more will be added ... Well, prepare yourselves ... From now on, every week there will be a new post!

This means that in order to keeping up with it, the blog topics will be more. And by that I mean that you will not only have DIYs, but photos of inspiration, "Currently Loving", music and more. Feel free to tell me what you would like to see.

MBFWM: Mi experiencia

Por cuarta vez, y dando gracias a www.experienciasmercedes.com, que en esta edición de la Fashion Week han brindado la oportunidad a todo el mundo de poder acceder al CibelEspacio, he tenido la suerte de asistir a este evento, único en Madrid.

Si lo tuviera que resumir en pocas palabras, diría: gente cool, con más gente cool. 

La verdad es que no tengo muy claro como lo resumiría en pocas palabras, pero para eso está este post. 

Primero, tengo varios consejos para primerizos:

1. Intenta ir un día en el que haya muchos desfiles, a menos que tengas entradas para algún desfile en concreto.

2. Siempre dura una semana, aproximadamente, y, como es normal, el sábado es el día más ocupado, así que, si puedes, evítalo.

3. Aprovecha el día. Es un evento de una semana, que solo tiene lugar dos veces al año. Es verdad que es agotador, pero merece la pena.

4. Enlazado con el anterior, ya que vas a pasar allí todo el día, intenta ir lo más cómoda posible. Recuerda, comodidad no tiene por que estar reñido con moda.

5. Ve con la idea de hacer cola. Hay mucha gente, así que es mejor tomárselo con calma.

6. Disfruta.

Siguiendo mis propios consejos, yo fui el Viernes 31, acompañada de mi amiga Paula, de Be yourself, everybody else is taken! El calendario de ese día estaba completo, y además muy interesante. De todos los desfiles que tuvieron lugar, nosotras vimos el de Victorio & Lucchino, Devota y Lomba, y Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada. No os preocupéis, que los detalles de los desfiles vendrán en diferentes posts, que iré poniendo esta semana. 

En cuanto al espacio, está muy bien, es muy grande, y con varias áreas: Tiendas de Ego, stands, kissing room, cafetería Mercedes, y por supuesto, las salas de los desfiles. Es imposible salir de Cibeles sin algo nuevo, ya sea una revista, un pintauñas de L´Oreal, o una pulsera de las Islas Canarias. También hay en pie muchos concursos, para todo tipo de cosas, desde una pashmina hasta un viaje. Y bloggers, modelos, celebrities, coolhunters, etc. Ya os podéis imaginar. También es una buena manera de conocer páginas como HipHunters, gente, y hasta tener la oportunidad de salir en la tele! Ya veis que es una experiencia, solo apta para Fashion Victims.

Espero que os haya gustado conocer Cibeles desde otra perspectiva.

For the fourth time, and thanks to  www.experienciasmercedes.com, which gave everyone the opportunity to go to this edition of the Fashion Week, I've been lucky enough to attend this unique event in Madrid.
If I had to summarize this event in a few words, I would say cool people, and cool people.
The truth is that I find it very difficult to describe it in only a few words, but that´s what this post is for.
First, I have a few tips for first-timers:
1. Try going on a day with a full schedule, unless you have tickets for a particular show.
2. It always lasts a week or so, and, as usual, Saturday is the busiest day, so if you can, avoid it.
3. Seize the day. It is a weeklong event that takes place only twice a year. True, it's exhausting, but worth it.
4. Linked with this, as you will spend all day, try to go as comfortable as possible. Remember, comfort does not have to be at odds with fashion.
5. Go with the idea of ​​queuing. There are many people, so you better take it easy.
6. Enjoy.

And now, back to me.
Following my own advice, I went on Friday the 31st, accompanied by my friend Paula, from Be yourself, everybody else is taken! The schedule for the day was complete, and very interesting. From all of the shows that took place, we were able to see Victorio & Lucchino´s, Devota y Lomba´s, and Agatha Ruiz de la Prada´s. Do not worry, the details of the shows will come in different posts, I'll be uploading during the week.
In terms of space, it is a huge room, with areas: Ego stores, stands, kissing room, Mercedes cafeteria, and of course, where the shows take place. It´s impossible to leave without something new, be it a magazine, L'Oreal nail polish, or a bracelet from the Canary Islands. There are also many contests up to all sorts of things, from a pashmina to a trip. And bloggers, models, celebrities, coolhunters, etc. You can imagine. It is also a good way to meet webpages, such as HipHunters, people, and even have the chance to be on TV! You can see that it is an experience, only appropiate for Fashion Victims.

DIY feathers 3: Necklace

Hola otra vez!

Aquí va el último de los DIY con plumas, y puede que este sea mi favorito. También es el más difícil, pero no deja de ser sencillo. Me encanta por la combinación de dorado y rojo, aunque también tiene algo que ver con mi nueva obsesión por los collares. Me encantan! 

Si os gustado esta serie de DIY con un factor en común, por favor, no dudéis en decírmelo, que seguro que encuentro otro para hacer!

Finally, the last feather DIY is here! I love this one, it is probably my favourite. Even though it´s the most difficult one, it´s easy. What I love about it is the combination of gold and red, and how it can turn a normal outfit into a totally different thing. Also, it has something to do with my newest obsession, necklaces. I love them!

But here´s the necklace tutorial I promised:

Materiales: Cadena fina-dorada o plateada-, plumas, terminales, alicates, cierres, anillas.

Coste: Menos de 5€.

Tiempo: 30 minutos.

Supplies: Chain-gold or silver-,feathers, clasps, jump rings, pliers.

Cost: Less than 5€

Total time: 30 minutes.

1: Corta el sobrante de las plumas y ponles terminales.
2: Corta la cadena del largo que quieras, y el sobrante córtalo en trozos de aproximadamente 4 cm.
3: Pon un enganche y una anilla para poder cerrar el collar
4: Calcula el centro del collar, y ahí engancha con una anilla el primer trozo de los que has cortado antes.

1: Cut the excess of the feathers and put clasps on them
2: Cut the chain as long as you want your necklace to be, and with the excess chain cut little pieces, 4 cm. long.
3: Put a clasp and a jump ring in the long chain, to close it.
4: Find the center of the necklace, and with a jump ring, put the first piece of chain.

Luego, con anillas, empieza a poner las plumas y los otros trozos de cadena, hasta obtener el resultado deseado.
Then, with jump rings, start putting the feathers and chain however you want, until you get the result you want.

DIY Feathers 2: Bracelets

Siguiendo con la serie de plumas, hoy quiero poner un post rápido sobre pulseras. Son tan sencillas de hacer, que merece la pena hacerlas a montones, para llevarlas apiladas.

Hi everyone!

This is "chapter" num.2 from the feather series. It´s a very easy and quick way to make a simple bracelet, but also with an original touch. I recommend doing a bunch of them, so you can stack them however you want. I stole the idea from www.Asos.com.

Inspiration:

Materiales: Plumas, hilo, cuentas de colores o blancas, terminales, alicates, tijeras.

Coste: 1€/ pulsera (o menos)

Tiempo: 5 minutos por pulsera

Supplies: Feathers, elastic, colored or white beads, clasps, pliers, scissors

Cost: 1€/bracelet (or less)

Time needed: 5 minutes.

1&2:  Corta el sobrante de la pluma y ponle un terminal ayudándote de alicates (3&4)
1&2: Cut the excess of the feather and put a clasp with pliers (3&4)

Empieza a meter las cuentas por el hilo, y cuando vayas a terminar, mete la pluma y termina la pulsera con una chapa de joyería
Start beading, and when you reach the end, loop the feather trough the elastic. To finish, use a metalic bead and pliers.

Como podéis ver, yo he elegido usar cuentas blancas, para que sea la pluma la que da el toque de color. Hay un montón de combinaciones posibles!
As you can see, I chose using white beads, so it´s the feather what adds the hint of colour. But the possibilities are endless!

DIY Feathers 1: Earrings

Teniendo 3 DIY con plumas preparados, he pensado en hacer una "serie" de DIY relacionados entre sí. En este caso, la serie se va a llamar "DIY feathers", y este es el capítulo 1. Si os animáis a hacer todos los proyectos con plumas (serán 3), yo os propongo que compréis una bolsa de plumas variadas, para tener suficientes. 

El primero es el más sencillo, es tan fácil que no se tarda ni 5 minutos en hacerlo. Pero, sin embargo, queda muy bien, sencillo pero puede dar un toque de color a tu look muy fácilmente. Además, me parece una buena idea para hacer regalos a amigas, madres, etc. Espero que os guste!

So, I have been preparing some DIYs lately, all related to feathers. So I decided to make a collection of "feather DIYs". And this is chapter 1. I hope you make all of them, because they are very easy, and they take no time at all.

This one, the first one, is the easiest. I think it takes less than 5 minutes making it, but I,m totally loving how it looks! It´s super simple, but it can add a hint of color to your outfit. Hope you try this!

Materiales: Plumas, tijeras, terminales, anillas, ganchos de pendientes, alicates.

Tiempo: 5 minutos

Coste: 2€

Materials: Feathers, scissors, jump rings, cord ends, jewelry pliers.

Time needed: 5 minutes

Pon el terminal en la pluma, y con la anilla, une el terminal y el gancho. Así de fácil!
Put the end in the feather, and with the jump ring, connect everything together. Too easy!

DIY lace shorts

Hola a tod@s!!

Espero que estéis pasando un buen verano, y tengáis planeado algo divertido para hacer. Sea o no sea el caso, yo propongo este DIY para pasar el rato, y conseguir unos shorts chulísimos! Esta idea viene de unos pantalones que vi en Zara hace un par de meses, y me pareció un proyecto sencillo que seguro que quedaba bien. Y la verdad es que sí, han quedado muy bien, estoy muy contenta con el resultado y me los estoy poniendo un montón. También es verdad que para gustos, colores y me ha parecido inevitable compartir el comentario de un amigo de mi hermano: "Parecen medio pantalón, medio braga". 

Pero bueno, sin mas dilaciones, os dejo el DIY.

I hope you are enjoying your summer, or have something interesting that you are planning on doing. Whether this is or not your case, I have a DIY for all of you to make in your free time. The idea came from some Zara shorts I saw a while ago. I thought it was a pretty easy project; and after trying it I can say that it was. I love how they turned out, and I am actually wearing them a lot. But, seems like not everyone liked them, and my brother´s friend said that "they are half short-half underwear." Well, I guess men don´t understand... lol

Well, that´s it. There goes the DIY.

Materiales: Shorts o pantalones largos para cortar, tijeras, encaje o bolillo, aguja e hilo.

Tiempo necesario: 1 hora y 30 minutos

Coste: Menos de 5€, si ya tienes los pantalones.

Materials: Shorts or any jean you would like to cut, scissors, lace, needle and thread.

Time needed: 1 hour and a half.

Cost: Less than 5€, if you already have the pants.

1&2: Haz una marca por donde quieras cortar los pantalones.
1&2: Mark the lenght of the shorts.
3&4: Corta solo una pierna, y dobla para coseguir que los dos lados sean iguales.
3&4: Cut one "leg", and fold in half to make both sides even.

1&2: Pon el encaje encima de los pantalones, y corta aproximadamente por donde vas a necesitar.
1&2: Place the lace over the shorts, and cut aproximately.
3: Como yo he usado una tira de bolillos, tuve que cortar el remate, para que no se notara la unión.
3: As I used two strips, I had to cut one side, in order for the joint to be invisible.
4: A coser!
4: Sew sew sew...

Cuando termines de coser alrededor de todo el pantalón, corta el encaje que sobra.
When you finish sewing around the whole side, cut what is left.

DIY Notebook

Hola a todos! Perdón por estar ausente durante todo este tiempo, la verdad es que no tengo excusa... Pero tengo muchos proyectos en la cabeza que enseguida estarán por aquí. Sin embargo, este en concreto no ha sido nada planeado. Resulta que el otro día me dí cuenta de que necesitaba un cuaderno más pequeño para llevar en el bolso y apuntar lo que se me pasa por la cabeza. Y como no, decidí que sería mejor hacerlo que comprarlo. Estoy muy satisfecha con el resultado, así que no dudéis en hacerlo! Los materiales son "de estar por casa", lo único que se necesita es un poco de tiempo, aunque parece que se tarda más de lo que en realidad es. Además, una de las cosas buenas de este cuaderno, es que se abre completamente, por lo que es muy fácil escribir. Espero que os guste.

Hi everyone! Sorry for being away for so long, I really have no excuse... But there are a lot of projects in my mind  that will be around soon. However, this proyect it´s not one of those that I have planned. It just came to me the other day, when I realised I needed a small notebook to carry in my bag. So, what better way to get one that making it? I´m really happy with the result, so I encourage all of you to make it. The materials needed are probably laying around, all you will need is a bit of time. What I also love about this notebook is that it lays flat, making it very comfortable to write in. Hope you like it!

Materiales: Hojas blancas, de cuadros, de rayas..., Hilo de punto de cruz, aguja de punto de cruz, cartón (yo he usado una caja de cereales), y fotos para decorar.

Tiempo: 1 hora, más o menos

Costes: Menos de 2 €

Materials: Pieces of paper (whatever type you prefer), embroidery floss, thick needle, cardboard (mine was from a box of cereals), and pictures.

Time: 1 hour, more or less

Total cost: Less than 2 €

1&2: Corta las hojas por la mitad, y dóblalas por la mitad. Luego, colócalas en montones de cuatro, lo que serán ocho páginas.
1&2: Cut the pieces of paper in half, and fold them in half. Then, arrange them in signatures, which are stacks of 4 pieces, that will make 8 pages.
3&4: Haz marcas para los agujeros, y atraviesa cada montón con la aguja.
3&4: Mark and punch with the needle.

1&2: En un trozo de cartón, señala dos rectángulos del mismo tamaño que las páginas, dobla por la mitad y pega con pegamento (esto es opcional, pero así será más resistente.
1&2: In a cardboard, trace a rectangle that is the same size as your pages. Fold in half, and glue them togheter (actually, this is optional, I did it so they would be more resistant)
3&4: Para decorar, puedes coger fotos de una revista. A mi me encantan las national geographic antiguas, que compré en Estados Unidos.
3&4: If you want to put a picture, you can take it form a magazine. My vintage National Geographic are such a source of inspiration!

Para lo más importante, que es la encuadernación, recomiendo seguir este tutorial de YouTube, en el que viene explicado paso a paso. Seguro que no consigo explicarlo mejor, así que...

1&2: Así es como quedó, por delante y por detrás.
1&2: This is the final result (front and back cover)
3&4: También añadí fotos en el interior. Como veis, en la portada, la foto está al revés. Eso es por hacer los agujeros en el lado contrario, así que cuidado al hacerlos!
3&4: I also put pictures in the inside, but (whoopsie!) I glued the front picture upside down. Remember to punch the holes in the correct side!

Así que, mientras pueda, voy cogiendo ideas de varios sitios para no quedarme sin inspiración ;) Estar al tanto para  estos próximos proyectos, que prometo que serán fáciles y muy, muy a la moda.

The little black jacket.

Para todas aquellas fans de chanel, os comunico (si no lo sabéis ya), que Karl Lagerfeld y Carine Roitfield están haciendo un tour por las ciudades más importantes del mundo, para anunciar el libro recién estrenado, llamado The little Black jacket, y que consta de una serie de fotografías en las que se reinventa un clásico de la firma: la chaqueta negra de tweed. Para ello, varias modelos, socialités o reconocidos rostros del mundo de la moda posan con esta chaqueta, pero adaptándola a su estilo. Este tour va a pasar por las ciudades de Tokio, Nueva York, Cannes, París, y algunas que quedan por anunciar. Lo que me gusta de este proyecto es que chanel se está dando a conocer de una nueva manera, y sobre todo, el vídeo del Making of de estas chaquetas. Lo dejo aquí, porque me parece muy interesante.

For all of you Chanel fans, let me tell you (if you haven´t already heard about it) that Karl Lagerfeld and Carine Roitfield are now on tour around the most important cities in the world, to promote their new book: The little black jacket. It consists of photographs of different models, socialités, and important people in fashion world, where they pose with this jacket while they are adapting it to their personal style. This tour is now in Tokio, bit it will be in New York soon, also Cannes and Paris. One think I really like about this project, is that they have filmed a video in which they show us the process of making this iconic jacket. I´ll put it down below, you should watch it.

Music loving: The kooks

A pesar de haber descubierto a este grupo hace un año aproximadamente,ahora es cuando me gusta más. Su nuevo disco, "Junk of the heart" me parece buenísimo, todas las canciones. Es un grupo que transmite positividad y alegría. Para l@s interesad@os , tocan en septiembre en el DCode festival, junto a grupos como The Killers, o Justice.
Los recomiendo, espero que os gusten!

I´ve known this band for a year, but it is now when I´m loving them most. A friend has given me their last album, "Junk of the heart", and I love each and every song in it. They are so positive that everytime I hear a song I can´t help smiling. They will be playing here in Madrid in the DCode festival, among with bands such as The Killers or Justice. Hope you check them out, and like them!

DIY Tribal necklace

Aquí está el DIY prometido! Un collar súper simple, y muy vistoso y veraniego. Yo tardé en hacerlo una hora, aproximadamente, pero una buena serie en la televisión, y listo.
 Materiales que se necesitan:

Cuerda, hilos de punto de cruz y arandelas metálicas (opcional). Para asegurar el cierre, un poco de pegamento (super glue, pistola de pegamento caliente...)

Tiempo: 1 hora.

Here´s the DIY I promised. This necklace is super simple to make, and it doesn´t take that much time. Hope you guys make your own, and please leave a comment!

Materials needed: Rope, embroidery floss, little metal hoops, hot glue gun

Time: 1 hour.

Haz un nudo al principio, y empieza a enrollar el hilo alrededor de la cuerda.

Make a simple knot, and start wrapping!

Para hacer rallas, solo coge dos hilos de diferentes colores y enrollalos a la vez!

To make stripes, just take two strings at the same time, and wrap them together.

Para poner una arandela, haz un nudo con el hilo y empieza a enrollar hasta llegar a la arandela.

     If you want to put a hoop, tie a knot and wrap until you reach to the metal hoop.

Pasa la cuerda por el aro, y sigue enrollando el hilo

Loop the rope through the  metal hoop, and continue wrapping

Para terminar, yo usé dos arandelas al final de la cuerda (que no se te olvide quemar los extremos par aque no se deshilachen), por las que pasé varios hilos de los colores que había utilizado.

 To finish the necklace, I used to metal hoops at the end of the rope, and looped throught them some strings. Easy!

DIY inspiration

Me puedo considerar una "blogaholic", me encanta estar en la red, cotillear todos los blogs, ver vídeos...  No paro de encontrar inspiración para próximos DIY´s (para las que no lo sepais, son las iniciales de Do It Yourself, Hazlo tú mismo).

DIY Destroyed T-Shirts

Ayer, algunas amigas y yo pasamos pasamos la tarde "destrozando" camisetas. Esta era una idea que tenía desde hace bastante tiempo, y por fin me decidí a hacerla. Es muy sencilla de llevar a cabo, sólo se necesitan unos pocos materiales y algo de tiempo.

Materiales:
     Camiseta grande, o al menos ancha. Yo usé una L de hombre, de la que recorté las mangas y el escote. (la mía es la de la última foto)
     Tijeras. Recordad que deberíamos tener un par exclusivamente para tela
     Aguja e hilo

Costes: 5€ por la camiseta
Tiempo total: 20 minutos


Yesterday I spent all the afternoon destroying t-shirts with my friends, Valeria and Paula. We were very excited to see how they would  turn out, and we are very proud of them! It is a very easy project that you can do in practically no time, and the supplies needed are minimum!

 To make your own t-shirts you will need:
     A t-shirt you don´t mind cutting, better if it is big for you (I used a L men size)
     Good scissors. Remember to have  a pair only for fabric!
     Needle and thread.

Total cost: 5€
Total time: 20 minutes

También podemos usar camisetas anchas, pero de mujer. Todas las camisetas son de h&M

Esto es opcional, pero se puede cortar la parte de abajo de la camiseta.

If you want to, cut the bottom of the shirt to make it shorter.

Dale la vuelta a la camiseta y dibuja el diseño que quieras. No tiene que ser perfecto.

Turn the shirt inside out and draw your design (it doesn´t have to be perfect, as you can see)

Corta por las líneas.
